Recovering Reality was founded by Erik and Mayana, a husband and wife team whose lives were transformed by the redeeming power of God’s truth.
Once shaped by personal brokenness and hard seasons, they now stand as a living testimony to what happens when the truth of God's word is embraced, responsibility is restored, and faith becomes lived, not just believed.
Together, they help individuals, families, and organizations break free from false narratives, addiction, and unhealthy patterns that keep people stuck. Through coaching and speaking, they guide others toward freedom, clarity, and purpose rooted in God’s original design.
Erik brings over a decade of coaching experience, including years working in addiction recovery and leadership transformation. His work has been shaped by walking closely with men and women through some of life’s most difficult seasons, calling people not only to healing but to accountability, maturity, and lasting transformation.
Mayana has spent the past several years working specifically with women, helping them realign their identity, faith, and daily lives with biblical truth. Her work flows from lived transformation, discipleship, and a deep understanding of how cultural narratives quietly shape beliefs and behavior.
As certified coaches and ordained ministers, Erik and Mayana approach their work as both a calling and a responsibility. Their coaching is grounded in God's word, real-world experience, Spirit led living, and a commitment to transformation that reaches beyond inspiration into obedience, freedom, and restored purpose.

At Recovering Reality, our mission is to restore individuals and families to God’s original design by helping them break free from addiction, grow in faith, and walk boldly in truth, responsibility, and purpose.
Through life coaching, recovery coaching, speaking, and biblical teaching, we provide practical guidance, proven strategies, and real accountability. Our heart is to see people healed from the inside out—spiritually grounded, emotionally whole, and equipped to lead healthy lives and homes.
This mission extends fully into Recovering Reality Women, where we focus on restoring women to their covenant identity as builders of homes, nurturers of destiny, and carriers of divine wisdom. We believe when women are restored, families are strengthened—and when families are made whole, the Church rises in power and clarity.
