Day 1 - Has God been tugging at your heart?

Have you ever felt that deep, unshakable pull…like God is calling you into something more, but you just can’t see the full picture yet? You’re not crazy.

You’re being called.

Over the next 5 days we aim to help you gain clarity surrounding this important topic. It’s about aligning with the purpose God has already been stirring in you.

Recognizing the Call

There’s a pattern in Scripture: (more on this in the video)
God doesn’t always choose the polished.

He chooses the willing.

Moses didn’t feel ready (Exodus 4:10-12)
Jeremiah said he was too young (Jeremiah 1:6-7)
Peter was a fisherman with a temper (John18:10)
David was just a shepard boy (1Samuel 17:33-37)

But they all had this in common:

They heard the call, and they answered.

Ask the Lord today:
“Help me see who You've created me to be in You. And, what have you already shown me that I’ve ignored?”

Next, listen and journal what you hear.

And if you’re bold, reply to this email and share what came up so we can pray for you.

You’re not here by accident.
God is calling you forward into more.

Day 2 – "Is that God, or just my thoughts?"

Let’s talk about something many believers wonder but few admit out loud:

“Was that really God speaking… or just my own thoughts?”

You’re not alone in that. And if we’re going to walk out our calling in God, we must learn to hear His voice.

Here’s the truth:

If you’ve been born again and filled with His Spirit, you already hear His voice.
You may just need to tune out the noise.

John 10:27 (NASB)
“My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

God speaks in many ways:
Scripture. Stillness. Dreams. Visions. People. And when we are yielded to Him, even in the thoughts that flow through our hearts throughout the day.

Here are 3 tips to help you recognize God’s voice:

1. Does it line up with His written Word?

Numbers 23:19 (NASB)
God is not a man, that He would lie, nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

2. Is it rooted in love?

1 John 4:8 (NASB)
The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

3. Ask Him to speak to you.
It may sound too simple, but remember: He desires to speak to you more than you desire to hear Him.

Jeremiah 33:3 (NASB)
Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

You don’t have to force it.
You just need to slow down and spend time in His presence.

Revelation 3:20 (NASB)
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”

Ask Him to speak. Sit in His glorious presence. He will speak.

Day 3 - "What if I don't do it perfectly?"

You won’t do it perfect, so relax. No one in the history of the planet, apart from Christ, has done everything perfectly.

But what if God’s view of perfect, and our view of perfect, are different?

Matthew 5:48 "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." (NKJV)

In over 11 years of one-on-one coaching, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard people say, “But what if I screw it up? What if I fail?”

First off, you only fail if you quit.

Secondly: “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Not only will God use everything meant to try and stop His plan for you, but you also don’t have to be perfect.

At least not according to the English definition of the word perfect: “to make something completely free from faults or defects, or as close to such a condition as possible.”

Jesus was flawless on our behalf (2 Corinthians 5:21), and then He paid for our flaws and faults on the cross. He is our perfection.

But if we look at the word perfect in the Greek, we get a better understanding of what God is communicating in Matthew 5:48.

Perfect, in the Greek – teleios: perfect, complete, mature, full-grown. Mature (consummated) from going through the necessary stages to reach the end goal; developed into a consummating completion by fulfilling the necessary process (spiritual journey).

When God calls us to be perfect, He is calling us to live as mature believers. He is calling us to live whole and healed in Him. And the Good News is that His power has already supplied us with what we need to live this way.

2 Peter 1:3 "For His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence." (NASB)

As you embark on your calling with God, you don’t need to be flawless. Seek His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), but if you fall short, His grace is sufficient.

You simply need to learn to live in His presence and healing. When you do this, He will reveal the path He has for you (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Day 4 - "Who are you called to?"

You aren’t called to everyone.

But God does have an assignment for you.

Too many gifted people stay stuck in delay because they’re trying to impact everyone, and end up reaching no one.

But the moment you get clear on who you’re called to… The doors begin to open.

Your Kingdom assignment is specific.

Jesus said He was sent to the lost sheep of Israel.

He knew His lane.

You have one, too.

Maybe it’s young adults.

Maybe it’s women recovering from trauma.

Maybe it’s leaders who’ve burned out.

Maybe it’s people like 'you used to be.'

2 Timothy 1:9 (NKJV)

“Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace…”

God’s not asking you to figure it all out.

He’s asking you to seek Him for clarity, and obey what you hear.

Ask the Lord today:

“Who is my ministry meant to impact first?”

Write down whatever you sense. No overthinking.

This is how we begin to step into the real call, not just the idea of it.

Day 5 - You've heard His voice, now it's time to move.

You’ve heard His call. You’ve leaned into His voice.
You’ve taken bold steps, even through fear.
You’ve started to clarify your assignment.

So now the question is:

What will you do with what God has shown you?

Take the Next Step
God isn't expecting you to go from A to Z in one step; He just needs you to take a step outside of your comfort zone and follow Him, going from A to B.

God isn’t looking for perfection.
He’s looking for obedience.

If you're reading this, it's because He’s stirring something deeper in you.
And you don’t have to walk this out alone.

That’s why I created Recovering Reality and A.C.T.S. Academy, to help people like you go from called to commissioned.

Ask the Lord:
“What’s my next step?”

Then move in obedience.

For many, that next step is this:

Take a step outside your comfort zone towards your calling.

Don’t stay stuck in the in-between.

It’s time to rise. It’s time to move.

Psalm 32:8 (NASB)
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will advise you with My eye upon you."
